Learn to lead!
CSE Collegiate Life is accepting applications for LeaderShape 2017.
Tuesday, Jan. 10-Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017
LeaderShape is a unique partnership between the College of Science and Engineering, the Carlson School of Management, and the College of Food, Agricultural, and Natural Resource Sciences. Approximately 400 Gophers have graduated from the program with a vast majority returning to campus energized and ready to make a difference within our campus community.
The program content of the Institute reflects key leadership issues of vision, partnerships, integrity, and results. In addition, all participants leave the Institute with a "Breakthrough Blueprint." The Breakthrough Blueprint is a well-conceived vision and plan of action for the participants to implement in their organization, community, or workplace.
As well as being an opportunity to develop skills to improve their organizations, participants praise the Institute as a time of great introspection. The week is structured so that participants first gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their own strengths and weaknesses, ultimately enabling them to be more effective leaders in their organizations. One of our recent participants summarized the experience the following way: “Personal insights have had the most effect on me. It's really hard to nail down, but I learned to think bigger, that I have a responsibility to lead, that there is strength in diversity, and that I can make a difference...”
We hope that you will take advantage of this great opportunity to further enhance your personal leadership skills and our campus community.
All lodging, food, and transportation for the week will be provided for a total cost of $75 thanks to our generous sponsors. If accepted into the program, more details will be provided at an orientation session later this fall.
To apply, visit z.umn.edu/ls17 and set up a profile. The application deadline is Friday, Nov. 11.
