Ireland: Career Readiness for the STEM Industry

Travel dates: Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017–Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018
Eligible students: Open to first-year CSE and CLA students with an interest in STEM
Credit: Students will receive three credits for CSE 2501 or CLA 2501. The course will be evaluated for the Global Perspectives Liberal Education Theme.

This global seminar is an opportunity for first-year STEM students to go abroad, engage with faculty and staff, make friends, gain new experiences, and earn credit. Using the STEM industry—biomedical device, information technology, and pharmaceuticals—as a case study, students will see how companies access the European Union market while leveraging the unique aspects of Ireland. The group will also work on guided career readiness exercises and activities aimed at building professionalism and long-term goals.

The application deadline is Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017.
