The Gilman International Scholarship Program offers grants for U.S. citizen undergraduate students of limited financial means to pursue academic studies or credit-bearing, career-oriented internships abroad. Applicants must be Pell Grant-eligible (students must check their eFAAN to confirm) U.S. citizens who are studying abroad for at least three weeks. Awards up to $8,000 are available for summer, semester, and year programs.

The info session covers eligibility requirements, application process, tips for applying, and additional resources. No registration is required.

The scholarship essay writing workshop will help you learn how to craft high-quality essays. Attendees will receive individual feedback in addition to general writing tips.

Students should email an essay draft by Sept. 17 to Thuy Doan, then bring a printed draft to the session. You may also meet with an advisor to discuss essay ideas even if you don't have a draft ready.

The Gilman application deadline for spring 2019 and summer 2019 is Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018.
