Enter the ASEE student video contest depicting the future of engineering education

The American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) is celebrating its 125th anniversary, and as part of the celebration, ASEE is holding its first-ever student video depicting where engineering education will be in 25 years. The winner will receive a trip to the 2019 ASEE annual conference in Tampa, Fla., and $3,000 cash!

ASEE Student Video Contest
Registrations due Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018
Videos due Friday, Feb. 1, 2019

Submit an online registration by Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018.

The scene:
You are 25 years into your career as faculty, dean, chair, provost or president at your dream university. Your 90-second video must depict:
  • What does engineering education look like? 
  • What changes have been implemented? 
  • What does the student body look like? 
  • How are classes taught?
Other judging criteria:

  • Creativity 
    • Did the video show authenticity? 
    • Is the video engaging? 
    • Did the viewers take interest in the video?
  • Technical specs 
    • Focus and audio transitions
    • Editing 
    • Did the video meet the technical requirements (less than 90 seconds in length)

The contest is open to undergraduate, graduate and post-doctoral students.

Prizes
  • Grand Prize—$3,000 and a trip to the 2019 ASEE annual conference
  • Second place—$1,500 cash
  • Third place—$500 cash
