About the wind tunnel

The 8-foot-tall by 11.5-feet-wide by 23-feet-long wind tunnel is a low-speed subsonic wind tunnel capable of producing wind speeds of up to 15 miles per hour and simulating the tiny droplets from boom sprays in farm fields. The wind tunnel will help both undergraduate and graduate students gain valuable skills and experience in high-tech agriculture research. It also enables CSE researchers to partner with WinField United on better understanding how to target crop- protection products and prevent over-spraying.
