Space is still available for CSE 1411: Exploring Careers in Science and Engineering for spring semester. This one-credit course is designed to help you learn about majors and careers that might be a good fit for you.

CSE 1411: Exploring Careers in Science and Engineering
Tuesdays, Jan. 22-March 12, 2019
2:30-4:10 p.m.

Students will earn one credit.

This course will help you develop an understanding of who you are and assess your fit with future careers. You will learn about resources and steps to take in planning and exploring your career in the field of science and engineering.

Course objectives:


  • Examine your current major and career direction
  • Assess your interests, values, skills, and personality preferences to determine careers and work environments in which those attributes fit
  • Investigate careers of interest to you through multiple resources
  • Help you become knowledgeable about fields within engineering, science, and other industries through informational interviews and industry guest speakers
  • Learn strategies to gain experience in your chosen field
  • Create goals related to your career aspirations
