Attend the Panama Global Seminar info meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 25

Learn about a CSE Global Seminar in Panama at an information session on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 11 a.m.-noon in Lind Hall, Room 305. This seminar will be during Spring Break 2020.

Students interested in a CSE seminar to Panama scheduled for March 2020 should come to the information session to learn more about the program and get answers to your questions.

Panama—Chemistry in the Field: Water Analysis and Environmental Impact Information Session
Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019
11 a.m.-noon
Lind Hall, Room 305
Travel to Panama during spring break and learn about Panamanian culture and daily life, water management, water-related health implications,  and environmental awareness. You'll gain hands-on experience about field measurements focused on chemical analysis and keeping field records.

Travel dates are Friday, March 6-Sunday, March 15, 2020.

Participants will earn two credits of directed research (Chem 4094W). This global seminar is based in the Bocas del Toro region, and an excursion to Panama City to visit the Panama Canal is included!

Students who have taken or are currently enrolled in one or more of the classes Chem 2101, Chem 2111, Chem 2121, Chem 4101, Chem 4111W, Chem 4411, or Chem 4423W are eligible to participate. There is no language prerequisite, however knowledge of Spanish may be helpful.

Faculty leaders are Professor Edgar Arriaga, and Assistant Professor Kyle Bantz in the Department of Chemistry.
