Enter the ASEE student video contest by Friday, Feb. 28

The American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) is holding its second annual student video contest where you can tell the story about why you're pursuing a career in the engineering profession. The winner will receive a trip to the 2020 ASEE annual conference in Montreal and $3,000 cash! Register by Friday, Feb. 28. Videos are due Friday, March 6.

Registrations due Friday, Feb. 28, 2020
Videos due Friday, March 6, 2020

This year's contest theme is "Engineering Careers and YOU!" where you can tell the story about why you are pursuing a degree or career in the engineering profession. Since the topic is very broad, you are encouraged to be as creative as possible and make your submission as unique as you are.

Your 90-second video must show:
  • Why you are pursuing a career in the engineering profession
  • Supporting information about the theme
Other judging criteria:
  • Creativity 
    • Did the video show authenticity? 
    • Did the viewers take interest in the video?
  • Technical specs 
    • Focus and audio transitions
    • Transitions and editing 
    • Did the video meet the technical requirements (less than 90 seconds in length)
To register, email the completed registration application to contest@asee.org by 11:59 p.m. EST, Friday, Feb. 28, 2020. 

The contest is open to undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral students. Individual or team submissions are eligible.

Prizes
  • Grand Prize—$3,000 and a trip to the 2020 ASEE annual conference
  • Second place—$1,500 cash
  • Third place—$500 cash
