Attend a virtual information session about the Cargill Global Scholars Program

The Cargill Global Scholars Program is accepting applications for its two-year leadership development program from students who are currently enrolled full-time as freshman or sophomores. Learn more about the program and hear from program participants and alumni about their experience at a virtual information session on Thursday, Nov. 12, 6 p.m. or Monday, Nov. 23, 3 p.m.

The Cargill Global Scholars Program is accepting applications for its two-year leadership development program from students who are currently enrolled full-time as freshman or sophomores. Students who are technically juniors, but will not graduate until sometime between May 2023 and August 2024, are also eligible to apply.

Interested students are invited to attend a virtual information session in November to learn more about the program and hear from program participants and alumni about their experience.

The scholarship and enrichment program provides financial support, mentorship, and the opportunity for U.S. college students to participate in leadership development seminars and engagement with fellow global scholars. Scholarships will be awarded to talented, high performing students pursuing science, technology, engineering, math, international relations, and business-related studies.

Students in these fields of interest are encouraged to apply:
  • Agriculture-related fields
  • Biochemistry
  • Biology
  • Business
  • Computer or data science
  • Engineering
  • Environmental studies and sustainability
  • Food science
  • International relations
Ten scholars will be chosen in the United States for the ninth cohort of the Cargill Global Scholars Program. The scholars will receive:
  • Annual scholarship award of $2,500 for up to two years
  • Fully-funded travel and participation to attend two leadership development seminars held during summer 2021 and summer 2022
  • In-person networking with fellow scholars from Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, and Russia
  • One-on-one mentorship from Cargill executives in the United States and abroad
Students are eligible if they:
  • Are in their freshmen or sophomore year of undergraduate studies
  • Are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Demonstrate high academic performance and leadership potential
The application deadline is Thursday, March 4, 2021.
