“Giants of Earth and Space,” the sixth in a series of CSE faculty research public lectures, is Wednesday, April 14, noon Central Time. The lecture features TED-style talks on dinosaurs and the sun. “Giants of Earth and Space” will feature opening remarks by Dean Mos Kaveh and two short TED-style talks: 
  • “The Star in our Backyard: The Science Behind Solar Storms,” by Lindsay Glesener, assistant professor in the School of Physics and Astronomy
  • “Peering through a Microscope at Gigantic Dinosaurs,” by Peter Makovicky, professor in Earth and Environmental Sciences
The Curiosity Drives Progress Lecture Series, hosted by the University of Minnesota College of Science and Engineering, focuses on the direct impact CSE faculty research makes on the lives of Minnesotans and beyond.
