Register for the 'Virtual Bridge to the Doctorate' workshop on Thursday, April 22

The University of Minnesota Louis Stokes NorthStar STEM Alliance together with the TRIO Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program will offer the "Virtual Bridge to the Doctorate" workshop for students interested in pursuing a doctorate degree or going to graduate school. The workshop is Thursday, April 22, 4-5:30 p.m. Central Time. The workshop will address reasons to pursue a doctorate by highlighting the career versatility a Ph.D. offers from academics, research, industry, along with the critical need for more doctorates across disciplines.

Register for the Virtual Bridge to the Doctorate Workshop


The 90-minute interactive workshop is intended to inspire, inform, and get students started on their graduate school journey, and includes a presentation on reasons to pursue a doctorate; a panel discussion with doctoral graduates representing STEM, social science, and professional careers; and question and answer breakout rooms specific to broad areas of discipline.

Participants also will learn about specific resources, including paid research and graduate school programs, and create an action plan to learn more and engage campus resources.
