If you are currently on academic probation, the CSE Office of Academic Advising will review your spring semester grades once posted. You will be notified of your academic status in June 1, 2021.

The University of Minnesota will not suspend students based on spring semester academic performance (GPA). Students currently on academic probation will be able to continue their studies at the University for Fall 2021 regardless of their Spring 2021 GPA. They are also able to adjust the grade basis in any qualifying class to S/N, even if currently on academic probation. It is important to also consider other potential implications of changing a course(s) to S/N before doing so. For more information, please review this Academic Advising blog post.

The University will change final grades of F for Spring 2021 to N automatically.

The College of Science and Engineering will review final grades at the end of the Spring 2021 semester to determine probation status for the following semester. Students will receive follow-up information in June 2021 regarding their status. Those who remain on probation will receive more detailed information regarding future expectations and requirements at that time.

Please visit the CSE Probation and Suspension section of the CSE website for more information. If you have any questions, please contact your college academic advisor or CSE Academic Advising. When emailing us, please be sure to use your University email account.
