Student Counseling Services

The University's Student Counseling Services promotes student success by helping with mental health and life concerns, learning and academic skills challenges, career uncertainty, and faculty/staff-student communications.

Resources offered include individual counseling, groups and workshops, crises servcies, referral services, Learn to Live, Let's Talk, and tools for academic success.

Well-being, spirituality, and healing

The University's Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality and Healing offers unique resources to the University community.

The center offers tools, strategies, and practices for health, stress management, and well-being on topics including fear and anxiety, altruism, isolation, gratitude, self-care, prioritization, positivity, and mindfulness.

Resources including upcoming webinars, classes, lectures, and more are available on the Center for Spirituality and Healing website.

Mental health

Boynton Health's Mental Health Clinic offers telehealth counseling and psychiatric treatment for students. Appointments can be scheduled by calling the clinic at 612-624-1444. Students who are currently in care can contact their providers via the MyBoynton patient portal. Students who want to start mental health services should call the clinic to schedule your first appointment. The Mental Health Crisis Line is available 24/7 for students who need emergency support at 612-301-4673 (or text "UMN" to 61222 on evenings and weekends).

Recreation and Wellness

Recreation and Wellness facilities and programs are open and available for you to exercise, play, restore, learn, and work. Visit the RecWell website to learn about memberships, classes, trips, workshops, and more.

Nutritious U Food Pantry

The Nutritious U Food Pantry provides fresh and healthy food at no cost to students who struggle to get enough to eat. Any student can visit the food pantry—no proof of need is needed. For dates, times, and location, visit the Nutritious U Food Pantry website.
