Celebration details and list of events

The campuswide celebration includes pop-up celebrations, webinars, workshops, panel discussions, movie night, and other activities throughout the week. Additionally, students, faculty, and staff are invited to share their #UMNFirst story and share a photo of themselves in the Giant First-Gen Proud MN installation on the Coffman Memorial Union Front Plaza.

If neither of your parents have earned a four-year college degree in the U.S., then you are considered a first-generation college student.

Everyone is encouraged to use items in the marketing toolkit to share their first-gen pride or support and use the hashtags #CelebrateFirstGen and #UMNFirst in social media posts.
