Spring 2022 CSE Virtual Career Fair
Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022
11 a.m.-5 p.m. Central Time
Virtual fair platform: Handshake
Career Fair registration will open at 8 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 1.

Similar to the Fall 2021 fair, the Spring fair will be held virtually via Handshake. The platform provides features that will allow you to connect personally with employers.

Winter break is a great time to begin researching employers and preparing yourself for the Career Fair. Here are some things you can do to make sure you're ready.

Update your Handshake Profile
In order to view the availability of one-on-one employer meetings, you must first update your Handshake Profile following these steps:
  • Include your major and year of graduation in your profile
  • Go to your Settings and be sure to select Employers or Community (recommended).
Prepare your resume
Review the Undergraduate Resume Guide (PDF) or Graduate Resume and Curricula Vitae Guide (PDF), then schedule an appointment with a career counselor for a resume review.

Create your introduction (your "Elevator Pitch")
Review the Virtual Career Fair Preparation Guide (PDF) and use the "Past, Present, Future, Question" model found in the guide to know what to say about yourself when you meet with employers.

Research employers of interest
Employers attending the Career Fair will expect that you know something about what they do and may ask you why you are interested in their company. Start by reviewing the list of registered employers in Handshake. Next, make a list of employers of interest, then visit companies' websites and LinkedIn pages to learn more about them. Review the Researching Employers and Industries Guide (PDF) to learn more.

Prepare for interviews
Review the Interview Guide (PDF) and make an appointment for a mock interview with a career counselor.

Career counselors are also available over winter break for individual appointments. Please visit the Career Center appointments page to schedule an appointment.
