The Spring 2022 CSE Virtual Career Fair on Tuesday, Feb. 8, is just a couple of days away. Take some time to check out these reminders to make sure you're ready to meet confidently with employers. More than 150 companies and organizations will be available to meet with you one-on-one as they search for new employees and interns. Career Fair hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Central Time.

The Spring 2022 CSE Virtual Career Fair on Tuesday, Feb. 8, is just a couple of days away. Take some time to check out these reminders to make sure you're ready to meet confidently with employers. 

More than 150 companies and organizations will be available to meet with you one-on-one as they search for new employees and interns.

Virtual fair platform: Handshake

The Spring Career Fair will be hosted on Handshake. The platform provides features that will allow you to connect personally with employers. Here are some things you can do to make sure you're ready.

• Make sure your current resume is uploaded in Handshake
• Update your Handshake profile to include your major/field of study, education level, end date (graduation date), and current grade point average (GPA). Employers will use these criteria to filter their searches for qualified students.
• Go to your Settings and select Employers or Community (recommended).
• Review the Virtual Career Fair Guide for tips on creating your elevator pitch.
• Review the Handshake Guide to Attending a Virtual Fair.
• View the list of employers attending the CSE Virtual Career Fair, and consider signing up to meet with a variety of companies to help diversify your search. Having access to the virtual platform ahead of time allows you to research companies you may not have considered previously, but may be a great fit.
• If you weren't able to secure a meeting with a desired employer, check back just before and during the fair. Employers may make more time slots available within 24 hours of the fair. Time slots also may become available if other students cancel.

CSE career counselors will be available between 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. on Zoom during the Career Fair to assist with questions or to listen and give feedback on your elevator pitch/introduction before you meet with employers.
