The National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates (NSF-REU) at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire is now accepting applications for its 2022 program "Advancing High-Performance Computing Opportunities in Undergraduate Research at UW-Eau Claire to Meet Challenges of Multidisciplinary Computational Science."
The program runs Monday, June 6-Friday, Aug. 12, 2022. Candidates from underrepresented minority groups, women, and first-generation college students are especially encouraged to apply.
Ten students will be selected to receive a comprehensive research experience in high-performance computing and its importance in several research domains during the 10-week program. Students will have the opportunity to conduct research in any of these research domains:
- Computer science
- Chemistry and biochemistry
- Geography and anthropology
- Ethics of reporting on research
- Materials sciences and biomedical engineering
- Physics
Scholars will receive:
- Summer research experience with a stipend of $6,000
- Subsidized housing and meals on campus
- Workshops and seminars on related research topics
- Guest speakers and field trips
- Social events
