Enter for the chance at $1,000!

MetroLab, an international collaborative of cities and universities, is hosting the second iteration of its MetroLab Student Cup. Students can enter completed research projects focused on civic technology, data, and innovation projects that provide new analysis, policy, or technical insights to civic challenges for a chance to win one of five $1,000 prizes and to be featured as the MetroLab Innovation of the Month.

The MetroLab Student Cup Competition recognizes, amplifies, and supports impactful collaboration between students from MetroLab’s member universities and colleges working in partnership with government and/or community collaborators. It also engages students, elevates their work, and creates pathways for careers and partnerships in the civic research and innovation domain.

Applicants will submit completed projects focused on civic research including improving government, community services, and social services; creating new mobility options and rethinking urban spaces; or driving innovation in public health. Students will participate in a live pitch to judges from local government, civic organizations, and academia.

Finalists will be selected in April and will present their projects to a team of judges from government and civic organizations. Up to five winners will be selected for a final pitch competition during MetroLab Network’s Annual Summit in June.

The application deadline is Friday, March 25, 2022.
