Attend the ASCE Fall Career Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 4

The University of Minnesota student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) will host a Career Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Rapson Hall Indoor Courtyard. Connect with more than 45 employers in civil, geo-, and environmental engineering fields. All CSE students are welcome to attend.

Apply for spring admission to your major

The CSE Admission to the Major database is now accepting applications for spring semester admission into the major. Most CSE students apply while enrolled in sophomore-level courses. In order to be eligible to apply this semester, you must have all of the required courses for your chosen major completed by the end of the semester. The deadline to apply is Friday, Dec. 30.

CSE Student Services will return to its permanent location in Lind Hall effective Thursday, Oct. 6. Student Services has been temporarily located in 10 Church Street during the Lind Hall renovation.

Registration is closing on Monday, Sept. 26 for the CSE Mentor Program. The program is open to sophomore, junior, and senior CSE students who sign up to be matched with an industry mentor working in your major or career of interest. Mentors can also provide guidance on succeeding academically, balancing school, work, and life, and building lifelong skills like stress management.

The Fall 2022 CSE Career Fair on Tuesday, Sept. 20 and Wednesday, Sept. 21, is just a couple of days away. Take some time to check out these reminders to make sure you're ready to meet confidently with employers. Nearly 250 companies and organizations will be available to meet with you one-on-one as they search for new employees and interns. Career Fair hours are noon-6 p.m. both days.

The first year of chemistry, physics, and calculus can be challenging, and study groups can provide academic and moral support. New 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline implemented, campus mental health services updates

The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, previously known as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, is a national network of more than 200 crisis centers that helps thousands of people overcome crisis situations every day. Calling or texting 988 will connect people with trained state and local mental health professionals who can provide support and appropriate resources to individuals in emotional distress or suicidal crisis.
