CSE is hiring a student Outreach Assistant for the fall 2022. As an Outreach Assistant, you will support a variety of welcoming and inclusive programs for K-12 youth to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) college and career pathways.
About the Job
The position coordinates a variety of outreach programs like school day field trips, virtual after school activities, and Saturday enrichment and mentorship programs. The Outreach Assistant will:
- Provide an authentic and positive CSE student perspective to program participants
- Facilitate program activities (e.g. ice breakers, presentations, and hands-on STEM projects)
- Chaperone program participants as needed
- Administrative support tasks, including securing space rentals (e.g. classrooms, computer labs), managing program supplies, data entry, and documentation management
- Communicate effectively with program participants and chaperones, fellow undergraduate program staff, as well as faculty and alumni volunteers
- Complete and maintain program staff training, including First Aid/CPR/AED certifications (paid)
- Support other CSE Student Services programs such as the career fairs and commencement
The Outreach Assistant is expected to work an average of eight hours each week. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
