Mentor a high school student!
Sign up to be a mentor for Rooted in STEM, a program that pairs CSE undergraduates with high school students from historically excluded identities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Rooted in STEM helps students learn about STEM academics and community support at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.
Mentors who fulfill their commitment will earn a scholarship at the end of the program.
One Saturday per month October-April, participating high school students network with peers while learning about current topics in research and academic programs, and explore potential careers. There are presentations, laboratory tours, science and technology demonstrations, and Q&A sessions. Presenters include College of Science and Engineering faculty and graduate researchers, recent alumni in industry, and current undergraduate students.
Apply now to be a Rooted in STEM mentor!
The application deadline is Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022.
