Apply for a STEM diversity fellowship!

Graduate Fellowships for STEM Diversity (GFSD) is accepting applications for its STEM diversity fellowship program for undergraduate seniors who plan to pursue a graduate degree in STEM disciplines including mathematics, chemistry, computer science, data science, physics, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, material science, and biomedical engineering. Fellowships offer a $20,000 stipend and an opportunity to do a paid internship at national laboratories.

Formerly the National Physical Science Consortium (NPSC), GFSD is a partnership between industry, government, and higher education. GFSD helps its partners to recruit, identify, select, and support outstanding U.S. doctoral students. Since granting its first fellowship award to seven young scholars in 1989, the GFSD partnership has provided fellowships to more than 600 aspiring scientists and engineers.

Applicant selection is based on criteria including coursework and grades, research experience, and letters of recommendation from professors and employers. The GRE General test also is required. Using these criteria, employers review the pool of applicants and advise GFSD of which students the employer wishes to support.

The deadline to apply for the fellowships is Thursday, Dec. 15.
