Apply for a MSROP paid summer research opportunity by Friday, March 3

The Multicultural Summer Research Opportunities Program (MSROP) is accepting applications for its 2023 summer research program for undergraduate students of color preparing for graduate school. Program dates are Monday, June 5-Friday, Aug. 11, and participating students will receive a $6,000 stipend. The application deadline is Friday, March 3.

The Multicultural Summer Research Opportunities Program (MSROP) is accepting applications for its 2023 summer research program for undergraduate students of color preparing for graduate school. Program dates are Monday, June 5-Friday, Aug. 11, and participating students will receive a $6,000 stipend.

During the 10-week summer program, undergraduate students of color work full-time with a faculty mentor on a research project. The cohort-based program includes a series of seminars preparing students for graduate school, developing research skills and relationships with faculty, while gaining intensive, full-time research experience.

Eligible applicants:
  • Must identify as a student of color or Native American
  • Must be a UMN sophomore, junior, or senior enrolled in at least one semester after the summer program
  • Must have completed at least 45 credits by the end of previous fall semester
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Applicants with a unique citizenship status should contact the MSROP program
Previous MSROP participants are not eligible.

The application deadline is Friday, March 3, 2023.
