Apply for the IEEE Power and Energy Society scholarship by Friday, June 30

Undergraduate students interested in power and energy careers are invited to apply for the IEEE Power and Energy (PES) Society Erich Gunther Future Power Innovator Scholarship through the society's Scholarship Plus Initiative. The application deadline is Friday, June 30.

Undergraduate students interested in power and energy careers are invited to apply for the IEEE Power and Energy (PES) Society Erich Gunther Future Power Innovator Scholarship through the society's Scholarship Plus Initiative.

The initiative provides scholarships and real-world experience to undergraduates who are interested in power and energy engineering careers. Students selected receive $2,000 towards education expenses, mentoring from industry professionals, and connections to internships. Students who continue to qualify are eligible to receive the scholarship for up to three consecutive years.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for an IEEE PES scholarship, at the time of application you must:
  • be considering a career in electric power and energy engineering
  • be working towards an electrical engineering bachelor’s degree
  • be a full-time student in the coming academic year at a university or college in the U.S., Puerto Rico, or Canada that offers undergraduate courses in power engineering. The university or college must have an ABET-accredited, four-year electrical engineering program.
  • take (or have taken) at least three of the power engineering courses for a total of nine or more credits
  • be currently enrolled full-time at a university/college or community college
  • be a U.S. or Canadian citizen or a U.S. permanent resident and reside in IEEE Regions 1-7
  • have a 3.0 or higher grade point average
