More than 200 companies and organizations will attend the Fall 2021 CSE Virtual Career Fair on Tuesday, Sept. 21 and Wednesday, Sept. 22. Employers are searching for undergraduate and graduate students to fill internship, co-op, and full-time positions. Many spots to speak with employers individually are still available, so sign up now!

Employers host virtual info sessions this week

Employers Veritas, Cummins Inc., and Anderson Corporation will host virtual career information sessions for CSE students this week.

CSE Mentor Program sign-up deadline extended to Monday, Sept. 27

The registration deadline for sophomore, junior, and senior CSE students to sign up to be matched with an industry mentor has been extended to Monday, Sept. 27. Mentors can be a valuable source of information on how to best position yourself for the career you want and can provide guidance on succeeding academically, balancing school, work, and life, and building lifelong skills like stress management. 

Application deadlines to study abroad in spring 2022 are in September and October

If you're considering studying abroad in spring 2022, remember that applications are due in either September or October.

Register for an online networking webinar with UMN alumni on Thursday, Sept. 30

Apply for the Merjent Foundation academic scholarship by Nov. 1

The Merjent Foundation is accepting scholarship applications from enrolled junior and senior students who demonstrate academic success and intend to pursue a career in an environmental field. The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to one individual for the 2021-22 academic year. Applications are due by Monday, Nov. 1.

Sign up for virtual Career Fair meetings with employers

The Fall 2021 CSE Career Fair is virtual, and beginning Tuesday, Sept. 14 at 8 a.m., you can sign up to speak with employers instead of waiting in line! More than 200 companies and organizations will be available during the two-day fair as they search for new employees and interns. Check the lists of employers for both days, since different employers will be available each day.

CSE Career Center will hold extended virtual drop-in hours this week

The CSE Career Center will hold extended virtual drop-in hours Sept. 13-20 in preparation for the Fall 2021 CSE Virtual Career Fair. Students can meet with a career counselor or peer assistant for five to 10 minutes to ask questions about the career fair, job/internship search, or any other career-related topic.

CSE Student Services temporarily located at 10 Church St. SE

Due to renovations in Lind Hall, CSE Student Services is temporarily located (until January 2023) on the third floor of 10 Church Street SE, Minneapolis. Enter the south door and check in at room 300. Visit the office for in-person academic advising or career counseling appointments, or learn about getting involved outside of the classroom.

CSE Academic Advising will hold extended virtual drop-in advising hours on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., via Zoom at the CSE Academic Advising drop-in appointments webpage. You must check in by 3:45 p.m. Normal drop-in advising hours are 2-4 p.m., Monday-Friday and will resume Wednesday, Sept. 8 via Zoom.

Gophers Protecting Gophers: Get the Vax

Staying safe during COVID-19 takes all of us. That's why University of Minnesota students, enrolled online or in person, are required to complete a Student COVID-19 Vaccination Immunization Form by Friday, Oct. 8, 2021, providing information regarding their vaccination status and any exemptions from receiving the vaccination. Several free, on-campus COVID-19 vaccination clinics are scheduled during the coming weeks. As a reminder, face coverings are required in all campus buildings until further notice.

Institute on the Environment offers leadership opportunities, information sessions

The University of Minnesota's Institute on the Environment (IonE) is accepting applications for its 2021-22 Undergraduate Leaders Program. The program helps emerging undergraduate leaders become real-world change makers committed to solutions-focused leadership. Applications are due Thursday, Sept. 16. Information sessions about other ways to get involved with IonE are Sept. 10, Oct. 8, and Nov. 5.
