Mark your calendar for the Spring 2025 CSE Career Fair on Tuesday, Feb. 4. Start preparing over winter break by updating your resume, preparing for interviews, and researching employers.

Final day for CSE Academic Advising drop-in hours for fall semester is Thursday, Dec. 19

There will be no drop-in hours for CSE Academic Advising during winter break. The last day for drop-in hours is Thursday, Dec. 19. If you have academic advising questions over winter break, please reach out to your academic advisor through email.

Important information for students on academic warning (formerly known as academic probation)

If you are currently on academic probation (formerly known as academic probation), the CSE Office of Academic Advising will review your fall semester grades once posted. If you do not meet the terms of your warning period, you will be notified via email by the end of the day Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025, of your academic status.

What you need to know before you accept a job offer

The College of Science and Engineering (CSE) understands the competitive and deadline-driven process of employee recruiting. To reduce the likelihood of students feeling pressured to make hasty decisions to accept then renege on a job offer, employers are asked to adhere to CSE recruiting policies. If you receive an offer that doesn’t meet these guidelines, you can share the policies directly with the company and ask for more time to decide.

Attend a National Student Exchange virtual info session

Students can now apply for the 2025-2026 National Student Exchange (NSE) and explore exciting study-away opportunities. NSE provides the chance to study at over 170 campuses across the United States, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands for a summer, semester, or full academic year. To learn more, students can join one of the upcoming virtual info sessions.

Fall 2025 study abroad program deadlines

Applications for fall 2025 study abroad programs are typically due in March or April. If you're interested in the CSE Engineering Exchange: Spain program for fall 2025 or spring 2026, note that the application deadline is Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025 due to the lengthy processing of the Spanish visa.

Apply for the Disability:IN Minnesota virtual 2025 Career Connections Mentoring Program

Disability:IN Minnesota invites individuals to apply for the virtual 2025 Career Connections Mentoring Program, which runs from Monday, Jan. 6, to Friday, March 28, 2025. The Career Connections Mentoring Program is a three-month mentoring experience that connects employers and professionals from Disability:IN Minnesota member companies with college or university students with disabilities, recent graduates with disabilities, and people with disabilities who have completed a specialized training or certification program. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2024.

Submit interest form for the Dungeons and Dragons Neurodivergent Affinity Group

If you're looking for a creative and supportive way to connect with others, the Dungeons and Dragons Neurodivergent Affinity Group, spring 2025, offers a welcoming space for neurodivergent undergraduate students to explore their imagination and build meaningful connections. No Dungeons and Dragons experience necessary. The group is open to undergraduate students in CSE. Space is limited to eight participants, so be sure to submit an interest form early.

If you're looking to build stronger, more meaningful connections, the Relationship Skills Support Group, spring 2025, offers a welcoming space to explore and strengthen all types of relationships—family, peers, roommates, and more—through skill-building and supportive discussions. The group is open to undergraduate students in CSE. Space is limited to 12 participants, so be sure to submit an interest form early.

Update your Expected Graduation Term (EGT) in MyU and begin preparing for graduation

Now is the time to update your Expected Graduation Term (EGT) in the MyU portal. If you are nearing graduation, also be sure to prepare for the final steps of your academic experience, including marking your calendar for the CSE Commencement Ceremony on Thursday, May 15. Students graduating in Fall 2024, Spring 2025, May/Summer 2025, and Fall 2025 are eligible to participate in the 2025 CSE Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony, as well as those who graduated in Summer 2024.

Last chance for CSE Abroad drop-ins with student assistant Eunice this fall semester

This week is the last week of CSE Abroad drop-ins with CSE Abroad student assistant Eunice for the fall 2024 semester. The drop-in schedule for this week is Tuesday, Dec. 10 from 10-11:30 a.m. and Thursday, Dec. 12 from 3-4:30 p.m. CSE Abroad drop-ins with Eunice will resume during the spring semester on Wednesdays from 10-11:30 a.m. and Thursdays from 2:30-4 p.m.

Walter Library open 24 hours a day until Dec. 19

Walter Library will offer 24-hour access, seven days a week with your U Card beginning at 8 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6 through 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19. The library has group study space, copy machines, and more.

Attend the Fall Design Showcase on Tuesday, Dec. 10

Experience the creativity and innovation of more than 300 students at the Fall Design Showcase on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2:30-4:30 p.m., Coffman Memorial Union, Great Hall. Explore a wide range of student projects in electrical, computer, and mechanical engineering. Discover concepts like autonomous swarms, the Internet of Things, and vision processing, and see how design drives discovery in engineering.

Last day to use One-Time-Only Late Withdrawal is Wednesday, Dec. 11

The last day to use your One-Time-Only Late Withdrawal (OTO) this semester is Wednesday, Dec. 11, and before you have taken the final exam. If you have questions about using your OTO, contact your advisor or meet with a CSE academic advisor during drop-in hours. International students may need to take additional steps.

Apply for spring admission to your major by Dec. 30

The CSE Admission to the Major database is accepting applications for spring semester admission into the major. The deadline to apply to a major for spring semester admission is Monday, Dec. 30, 2024.
