What you need to know before you accept a job offer

The College of Science and Engineering (CSE) understands the competitive and deadline-driven process of employee recruiting. To reduce the likelihood of students feeling pressured to make hasty decisions to accept then renege on a job offer, employers are asked to adhere to CSE recruiting policies. If you receive an offer that doesn’t meet these guidelines, you can share the policies directly with the company and ask for more time to decide.

Scholarships available for spring semester abroad in Sweden

Spend a semester abroad in Sweden! Chalmers University of Technology is an affordable and urban campus located in Gothenburg, Sweden's second-largest city. Chalmers University of Technology is offering scholarships of approximately $2,400 to eligible students who apply and are accepted to Chalmers University of Technology. The nomination deadline has been extended to Monday, Oct. 21, but completed applications must be submitted by Friday, Nov. 1.

Apply for the Advanced Energy STEM $20,000 scholarship by Friday, Oct. 25

Advanced Energy's STEM Scholarship provides $20,000 to qualified students majoring in electrical and computer engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or material science. Scholarship recipients also will have the opportunity to intern with Advanced Energy. The application deadline is Friday, Oct. 25.

The University has changed the Public Hours for some buildings

Recently, the University has changed the Public Hours for some buildings. Public Hours refers to times when buildings are accessible without a U Card, while University Hours means buildings are only accessible with a U Card. Students are strongly encouraged to always carry their U Card to ensure access to buildings.

CSE Career Services offers extended drop-in hours, Career Fair tours

CSE Career Services will hold extended drop-in hours in preparation for the Fall 2024 CSE Career Fair on Tuesday, Sept. 17-Wednesday, Sept. 18. You can meet with a career counselor for 5-10 minutes to ask questions about the career fair and have your resume reviewed. Drop-ins are held in Lind Hall, Room 105.

Sign up for the CSE Virtual Resume Marathon by Friday, Sept. 13

Do you need your resume reviewed prior to the Career Fair? If so, CSE Career Services will offer 20-minute virtual resume reviews with employers on Monday, Sept. 16. Space is limited, so sign up early. Registration deadline is Friday, Sept. 13 by 8 a.m.
