Students on academic warning: Book your academic warning advising appointment today

If you have been placed on academic warning (formerly called academic probation) for the spring 2024 semester, schedule your required academic warning advising appointment today to meet the Friday, Oct. 4 deadline.
Important information!

If you have been placed on academic warning (formerly called academic probation) for the spring 2024 semester, schedule your required academic warning advising appointment today to meet the Friday, Oct. 4, 2024 deadline. Advising calendars fill up quickly as fall registration appointments begin, and you don’t want to miss your opportunity. Failure to complete your paperwork and appointment(s) by this date may result in suspension from the University.

Please review the following information to know what is expected of you while on academic warning, including scheduling appointments. Please note: upper division (admitted to the major) students have additional meetings to complete as part of their academic warning requirements. This information can also be found on the CSE Academic Academic Warning and Suspension webpage, as well as emails you received from CSE about your academic warning requirements.

You may register for spring 2025 classes during your designated time queue while you are on academic warning if you have completed the following steps:

Pre-major (lower division) requirements:
  1. Register for classes. You must be registered for fall 2024 classes prior to the academic warning appointments with your college advisor.

  2. Schedule an academic warning appointment with your college advisor. You must contact the CSE Academic Advising office by Friday, Oct. 4, to schedule your appointment with your college advisor. Schedule appointments with your CSE college advisor on the CSE advising appointments web page

  3. Complete the Academic Warning Contract and Self-Assessment worksheet prior to your appointments and be prepared to discuss your worksheet with your college advisor. Then, have your worksheet ready to discuss with your college advisor. If this form is not complete at the start of your appointment with your college advisor, your academic warning hold will not be moved, as you will not have met a term of your academic warning. This means you will not be able to register at your queue time and you may be required to reschedule your appointment with your advisor.

  4. During your appointment, be prepared to discuss your completed forms, as well as your goals for the term and changes you will make or have made to improve your academic record.

If you have other registration holds placed by the CSE Academic Advising Office, you will be required to schedule a second appointment with your college advisor. There must be a minimum of 24 hours between each advising appointment.

Admitted to the major (upper division) requirements:
  1. Register for classes. You must be registered for fall 2024 classes prior to the academic warning appointments with your DUGS/departmental advisor and your college advisor.

  2. Schedule academic warning appointment with your DUGS/departmental advisor. If you are admitted to more than one CSE major, you will need to meet with DUGS/departmental advisors from each of your majors.

  3. Schedule academic warning appointment with your college advisor. You must contact the CSE Academic Advising office by Friday, Oct. 4, to schedule your appointment with your college advisor. This appointment cannot be scheduled for a date prior to your appointment with your DUGS/departmental advisor. Schedule appointments with your CSE college advisor on the advising appointments webpage.

  4. Complete the Academic Warning Contract and Self-Assessment Worksheet in advance of your appointments and be prepared to discuss your worksheet with your DUGS/departmental advisor. Then, have your worksheet ready to discuss with your college advisor. If this form is not complete at the start of your appointment with your college advisor, your academic warning hold will not be moved, as you will not have met a term of your academic warning. This means you will not be able to register at your queue time. This may require rescheduling your appointment with your advisor.
During your appointment, be prepared to discuss your completed forms, as well as your goals for the term and changes you will make/have made to improve your academic record.
