Attend the Coloplast Site Visit on Wednesday, Oct. 2

Coloplast would like to welcome interested engineering students to its Minneapolis location. During the site visit on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m., students will have the opportunity to learn about Coloplast and meet the engineering team that turns ideas into sellable medical devices. The registration deadline is Wednesday, Sept. 25 by noon.

Coloplast would like to welcome interested engineering students to its Minneapolis location. During the site visit, students will have the opportunity to learn about Coloplast and meet the engineering team that turns ideas into sellable medical devices. The team will explain how an idea becomes a product and the various engineering functions involved. Students will also tour the labs and manufacturing space, with lunch and a Q&A session to conclude the day.

Site visit agenda:

  • 9:45 a.m.: Depart campus from Northrop
  • 10 a.m.: Arrive at Coloplast
  • 10:15 a.m.: Introduction and overview
  • 10:30 a.m.: Production and labs tour (cadaver lab, test lab, cleanroom, warehouse, manufacturing labs)
  • 11 a.m.: Product development process (PDP) overview (review the PDP cycle and discuss the various engineering roles and duties at different stages)
  • 11:45 a.m.: Lunch and Q&A panel
  • 12:45 p.m.: Depart back to campus

Its business includes ostomy care, continence care, wound and skin care, interventional urology, and voice and respiratory care. 

The company operates globally and employs approximately 14,500 people. Coloplast Minneapolis is one of the primary hubs for the interventional urology team. The Minneapolis site hosts most of the company’s engineering functions, including research and development, quality, product development, process development, and manufacturing.
