Apply for the $10,000 DSCT Research scholarship by Saturday, March 1

The Detroit Society for Coatings and Technology (DSCT) is a regional nonprofit association of professionals interested in coatings and related products. To encourage and support young scientists and engineers advancing this field, DSCT has launched a $10,000 research scholarship program for 2025-2026 and is now accepting applications. The application deadline is Saturday, March 1, 2025.

The Detroit Society for Coatings and Technology (DSCT) is a regional nonprofit association of professionals interested in coatings and related products. Each year, DSCT holds its annual technical conference, FOCUS (Future of Coatings Under Study), in Southeast Michigan, attracting more than 300 attendees. The conference has become a popular venue for automotive coating technical discussions and networking across the entire supply chain.

To encourage and support young scientists and engineers advancing this field, DSCT has launched a $10,000 research scholarship program for 2025-2026 and is now accepting applications.

Applicants must:
  • Submit an online application.
  • Be available for an oral presentation during the FOCUS Conference in April or May 2026.
  • Provide a two-page outline of the research project, describing research goals, scope, methodology, relevance to the coatings/automotive industry, any preliminary results, and expected outcomes.
The application deadline is Saturday, March 1, 2025.
