The Innovation to Impact Summer Fellowship Program immerses undergraduate students in the dynamic world of startups. Over eight weeks, student teams will be paired with startups, gaining hands-on experience in the innovation process.
Participants will work closely with startup founders and teams, contributing to real projects and gaining insights into product development, market research, and business strategy. Through workshops, mentorship, and collaborative projects, students will develop critical skills in creativity, problem-solving, and entrepreneurship, preparing them for potential future careers in the innovation ecosystem.
This program is open to undergraduate students in all majors. Broad teams will be formed to support each project. Underrepresented and international students are encouraged to apply.
Program Details
- Work with a team of two to three students
- Duration is eight weeks, up to eight hours per week (approximately 64 hours). Other employment obligations will be supported
- Dates are Monday, June 2 to Monday, July 28
- Students will receive $1,250 for participation (housing and travel reimbursements are not included)
- Weekly in-person evening workshops will provide structure for the program and help move teams forward. Sessions will take place on the UMN campus
- Weekly coaching from an advisor and someone directly involved with the technology
- Optional tours and other events throughout the summer
