Mentor a new student!
CSE Ambassadors are seeking sophomore, junior, and senior students to be peer mentors to first-year students during the 2023-24 academic year. Mentors will receive a $200 scholarship for spring semester 2024.
About the program
As a CSE peer mentor, you will be matched with one or two first-year CSE students to advise throughout the year. This is a great opportunity to develop leadership skills, meet other engineering and science students, and attend professional and social events. Mentors and mentees will be matched based on interests and majors.
Requirements
- Attend a mandatory training on at the end of September (more information will be available in early September)
- Minimum time commitment during the year is one meeting per month with your mentee(s)
- 2.5 GPA or higher
- A least sophomore standing at the start of fall semester 2023
- Strong commitment to CSE
The application deadline is Sunday, Sept. 17 at 11:59 p.m.
You will receive all of the resources you'll need to develop a successful relationship with your mentee(s). Many of our mentor/mentee pairs become friendly faces to each other even outside of the program.
