Update your Expected Graduation Term (EGT) in MyU and begin preparing for graduation

Now is the time to update your Expected Graduation Term (EGT) in the MyU portal. If you are nearing graduation, also be sure to prepare for the final steps of your academic experience, including marking your calendar the CSE Commencement Ceremony on Thursday, May 9. Students graduating in Fall 2023, Spring 2024, May/Summer 2024, and Fall 2024 are eligible to participate in the 2024 CSE Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony, as well as those who graduated in Summer 2023.

International students: Sign up for personal statement consultations by Friday, Jan. 12, 2024

Are you an undergraduate international student (F-1 or J-1 visa) preparing an application for a graduate or professional school program? Your personal statement is an important part of the application process. Sign up for a consultation to receive feedback on your personal statement from trained international graduate student consultants Monday, Nov. 27-Friday, Jan. 12. There are options for in-person or live Zoom meetings, or recorded evaluations to review later.

Visit and tour the BME labs on Monday, Nov. 27 and the Knowledge Computing lab on Thursday, Nov. 30

The CSE Undergraduate Research Advocates and Career Services will host research exploration and lab tour events where you can get a behind-the-scenes look at research labs, interact with grad students and faculty, and learn more about how to get involved in research in CSE. Labs included are the biomedical engineering (BME) labs on Monday, Nov. 27, and the Knowledge Computing lab on Thursday, Nov. 30. Sign up early as space is limited. Snacks will be provided.

Apply for the Lillehei Heart Institutes summer 2024 research program scholarship

The University of Minnesota's Lillehei Heart Institute (LHI) offers annual summer research scholarships in basic science research related to cardiovascular disease. Tentative dates for the 2024 program are Monday, June 10-Friday, Aug. 2, and scholars are required to attend Cardiopalooza on Wednesday, July 31. Applications will be accepted beginning Friday, Dec. 1-Thursday, Feb. 1. All scholars will receive a $4,000 stipend.
