Learn abroad in Guatemala!

The planned 2025 freshman seminar abroad to Guatemala during spring break is now open to all undergraduate University of Minnesota students. This program will also feature one of the lowest study abroad fees in 2025.

Professor Edgar Arriaga will lead the seminar on Sustainability and Green Chemistry in Guatemala, where students will travel to his home country to explore sustainability practices in depth. The program includes visits to Lake Atitlán and a Mayan archaeological site, along with opportunities to interact with Guatemalan students throughout the semester.

This is an exciting opportunity to explore Guatemala with engaging faculty and students while fulfilling the Environment liberal education theme. No background in chemistry is required.

The deadline to apply has been extended to Monday, Dec. 9, 2024.
