Mentoring for the Formation of Research Careers in Engineering (M-FORCE) is looking for under-represented minority students to participate in mentoring events and activities.
M-FORCE is a National Science Foundation Inclusive Mentoring Hub between the University of Minnesota, Morgan State University, and the National GEM Consortium. Participation in M-FORCE will help students build supportive communities, envision research-focused career pathways, and develop professional communication skills with an understanding of innovation and entrepreneurship. Students will be mentored by a national expert, learn about different research experiences, and learn how to apply to graduate school and develop a strong application.
After submitting an application form, applicants will be asked to provide:
- an up-to-date resume
- a copy of your unofficial transcript
- a video of no more than three minutes or a letter of no more than two pages. The video or letter should include:
- your name, major or department, and year in school
- other higher education and major (for transfer students)
- reasons you are interested in research and what inspired you
- a UMN course or instructor, if any, who was influential
- your research topics of interest
- reasons for your interest in becoming an member of the M-FORCE Undergraduate Cohort
The application deadline is Sunday, March 10.
