About UROP

UROP offers funding to University of Minnesota undergraduate students to work on a research project with a faculty mentor. UROP provides a stipend of up to $1,800 for approximately 120 hours of research.

To apply:
  • Write a project proposal up to three pages in length that explains your research question, project goals, context, impacts, methodology and significance, research plan, and expected outcome(s)
  • Complete the online application form
  • Have your faculty mentor complete the Faculty Recommendation Form
Summer and fall 2024 applications are due by Monday, Feb. 26.
